Hairstyles for 2011

The hair is often regarded as the basis of beauty, especially in olden times. Nowadays, its value has not been downsized, as it still serves one of the basis of a person’s aesthetic qualities, and so, the term “hairstyling” was born. People experiment with different hairstyles to achieve a certain degree of look which fits the appropriate theme or occasion. Long hairstyles, which proliferated centuries ago, are still considered in for year 2011, but there are several hairstyles that sprang up throughout the years.
Just like the previous year, the year 2011 is all about revivals and bringing back the hairstyles of old, but with a twist. With a little bit of a modernist feel and a hint of 20th century hairstyles and you get the 2011 trend.
For long hair you can select any of the following:
• Braided Topknot
• Double Hair Knot
• Half up Braided Hair
• Bird’s Nest Bun
• Half up Brigitte Bardot Hair
• Afro Hair

Notice that the selection for long hair includes either braids or a knot. The only exception is the Afro hair which recently gained momentum after a long hiatus from the scene. These long hair styles have been around for a couple of years save some which rise in and out of the fashion scene.
For the next few months, expect what we call “scene hair”. It has evolved from emo hair and created its own place in and has distinct characteristics that can easily differentiate this style from emo hair. One very obvious comparison is that emo hair is meant to be bland and minimalistic in nature while scene hair is more of in-your-face flamboyance with the use of gels, bright dyes, loud colors and hair extensions. The other difference would be that the scene hair has an upbeat feel into it which is almost completely different from that of emo hair.
Scene hair is not only made for girls. Scene hair is getting popular among the male population. While others think that with the shorter hair of men, scene hair is impossible but it’s quite the opposite really. For men, scene hair would just require the usual vivid colors and sharp lines. But it will be better if the hair would really be longer. If men do decide to wear the scene hair then its better if you let your hair grow out. Just utilize available accessories like bandannas, hats and caps to make midway lengths a little less awkward.
